About the filmmaker
Dominic Witherow
I am a London Film School graduate with more than thirty years’ experience in creative, documentary and corporate production, the last twenty or so in a professional capacity. I am also my grandfather’s custodian in every sense: writer, director, editor and producer of this film.
Before filmmaking I spent a short time in the British Army, followed by several years in the City working in tax, recruitment and marketing. In retrospect, the path to this film now feels almost predestined: a soldier’s grandson, a filmmaker, a family archive and a story waiting in a chest for nearly eighty years.
